Should I get tested for HIV/AIDS? Am I at risk for getting HIV/AIDS?
We have the answer!
Take this short Q & A. It will give you an overall idea of your risk level. This does not mean that you have HIV but it tells that you may have had chances of getting HIV and it is wise to take a test for HIV to know for sure.
Human Immunodeficiency Virus which causes AIDS is most commonly spread through unprotected sexual intercourse. In addition to sex between men and women, it can also be spread through sex among men. It is also spread through the sharing of needles and syringes used for injecting drugs other than for medical treatment purposes. The virus can remain in the body for many years without producing any disease symptoms whatsoever. So it is necessary to do a simple blood test known as the ELISA test, to find the presence of the virus in those, who might have been exposed to it. The virus is transmitted only very feebly and while one episode of risky behaviour can result in the transmission of the virus, numerous risky encounters also may not result in the transmission of the virus. Currently very effective treatment and tests are provided free of charge by the government for all those who may require it. Hence it is in your advantage to take the following quiz to find out if you need to be tested for HIV.
