The official website of Kerala State AIDS Control Society (KSACS) – www.ksacs.in bagged the e-Governance award in the website category by getting adjudged as the third best. e-Governance awards were instituted for the first time by the Government of Kerala, and the award came as a tremendous recognition for KSACS, who are spearheading the campaign against HIV/AIDS in Kerala.
At the awards distribution function held at Mascot Hotel on December 8 in Thiruvananthapuram, Mr S.Ajai Kumar, Joint Director, IEC, KSACS received the award on behalf of KSACS from the Chief Minister Mr V.S.Achuthanandan.
Dr Ajay Kumar I.A.S., Director, IMG and Principal Secretary, Information Technology in his welcome address said that the winners of the Kerala State e-Governance Awards 2008 have showcased highly citizen-friendly computerization projects that have brought in high level of efficiency and transparency in the way the government offices function to help the common man.
The awards distribution function had Mr Vishal Dhupar, Managing Director, SAARC Region, Symantec Corporation delivering the keynote speech on the topic “The new IT security agenda: Ensuring cyber security to combat Cyber Terrorism.” Others who were present on the dais included Chief Secretary, Ms Neela Gangadharan, Mr Anand Parthasarathy, jury member and Mr C.P.Ajumal, faculty, IMG and Co-coordinator.
As per the judging panel www.ksacs.in has gone beyond the mere display and dissemination of information with sensitivity and professional thoroughness. The online counseling facility in the site received special mentioning.
The e-governance award for the first and the second place in the website category went to Kerala Tourism and Kerala State IT Mission.
