Free Food for HIV Positives
Food will be provided free of cost to the HIV positive patients and their bystanders in the Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram in addition to the treatment. A programme to provide free food for HIV Positives admitted in the Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram and their bystanders was jointly launched on July 27, 2009 by the Kerala State AIDS Control Society (KSACS) and the voluntary organization Lourde Matha Care. As per the programme, food will be provided three times a day from admission to the day of discharge. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Usha Titus, Project Director, KSACS at the Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram.
Others present during the inauguration of the free food programme were officers of KSACS that included Dr. T.V. Velayudhan Additional Project Director, Dr. Kheela Mathew, Joint Director Infectious Diseases, S. Ajay Kumar, Joint Director Awareness Wing, Mr. J. Domi, Assistant Director, Ms. Anjana, JIPA Coordinator, besides personnel from Lourde Matha Care that comprised Fr. Soni Mundunadackal, Mr. T.M. Tomi, Mr. K.M. Thomas and Ms. Ambili Raju
