Organized by the Kerala State AIDS Control Society, a voluntary blood donation forum was held at the Lions Club Hall in Thodupuzha on July 19, 2009. The district-level blood donation forum was inaugurated by the Member of Parliament P.T. Thomas. The function, which was inaugurated by the Member of the Legislative Assembly, P.J. Joseph had the presence and active participation of many noted personalities from different walks of life. Dignitaries including the Member of the Parliament, P.T. Thomas and his wife donated blood during the forum. About 20 persons donated blood during the forum and 20 units blood collected
