The Technical Support Unit (TSU) is designed to provide technical support to KSACS to achieve high level of coverage and maintain quality of the programme implementation for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care programmes. TSU has been functioning since December 2007, replacing the former Project Support Unit without the latter's project implementation role. The TSU is managed by the AIDS Prevention and Control Project of Voluntary Health Services (APAC-VHS) functioning at Chennai and is funded by USAID. The TSU will assist the KSACS in identifying NGOs and build the capacities of NGO, CBO and civil society organizations.
Aims of TSU:
Provide technical expertise in the following areas to help the society to achieve NACP III goals and objectives:
- Evidence based strategic planning/ resource planning
- Targeted Interventions
- Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) through services like Pulari (STI clinic) and condom promotion
- Mainstreaming HIV related activities in key departments and ministries
- Capacity building - training and evaluation
